Capital Campaign Update

My Dear St. James Parishioners,

Greetings from Jim Navarro! As you know, I am the Fundraising Chairman for the Permanent Church and I am writing to you on behalf of my Executive Committee. Recently Father Antony had written to you and given you an update regarding our church project. At the moment we are waiting to get an appointment with the City of Fremont in order to present our project to the planning department. As you know this is going to be time consuming as we need step by step approval from the city.

The reason why I am writing to you is to let you know that the executive committee as well as several of our parishioners have already begun to contribute toward their pledge. I am proud to say that Father Antony, our pastor, has contributed thirty-five thousand dollars toward his total pledge of sixty thousand. As we know, he always leads by example. Our goal is to have two hundred families to start giving by the end of September. Therefore, I would like to appeal to all those who have already pledged to kindly start contributing. Your generosity and support are highly appreciated.

We were ready to bulk-mail the pledge cards to all of you by the end of March, but because of the Coronavirus we kept it on hold. We are planning to mail them to you at the end of September. We will inform you before we mail them out.

I am fully aware of what you are going through during this pandemic time. No one is free from it. But we are committed to our project and we will forge ahead with it because we have your support and commitment. And besides, we rely on Lord Jesus, who has called us to build Him a worthy worship place. Therefore, with St. Paul let me say, “We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). No Coronavirus can suppress us from our dream of building a Permanent Church.

Soliciting your loving support,

Jim Navarro

Chairman, Executive Committee
